Vegas Wine News reintroduces its creator and principle contributor, Charles Moncrieff III, as its featured person of the month.  After graduating from UCLA law school and practicing as an attorney specializing in civil litigation for more two decades, in 2006 Charles decided to make a radical change of life by moving to Las Vegas and attempting to make an vocation out of his avocation.  His love of wine, travel, photography and writing drove him to begin the Vegas Wine News monthly on-line newsletter.  Charles began writing Vegas Wine News in 2007, and has regularly published on-line issues of the newsletter since.

Mostly self taught in the world of wine, Charles became a true wine lover beginning in about 2003.   He has slowly but surely acquired a modest collection of fine wines, and has traveled to many of the most interesting wine destinations around the globe, including Napa, Sonoma and the Central Coast of California, the Willamette Valley in Oregon, Burgundy, Rhone Valley, Loire Valley, Bordeaux and the Champagne regions of France, the Priorat and Rioja regions of Spain, Germnay’s Mosel River Valley, the Tuscany, Piedmont, Campania, and Liguria regions of Italy, and the wine country of Chile.  Moreover, Charles travels to specific metropolitan areas with the aim of writing about the wine possibilities in each city.  For example, the cite has featured the wine bars of Paris, Rome and San Francisco over the years.

Charles’ next trip will take him to Italy, to do a follow-up to the wine bars of Rome, Piedmont and the Veneto regions of that country, to report on those intriguing areas.  Stay tuned for those articles on the travel page of this site in future editions.
