Meet LeAnna Darr, the new wine reviewer for Vegas Wine News. As an introduction, a few pertinent facts about LeAnna and her background in wine may prove interesting:
When LeAnna was growing up, her father owned a wine store outside of Las Vegas. This exposure to wine culture at a young age sparked an interest that endures to this day. As she grew, so did her enthusiasm for “everything wine”. Without hesitation, she decided to further her knowledge of the industry by participating in wine seminars throughout her regular schooling, and eventually graduating with a college degree in Hospitality. She has since supplemented both that formal and informal education by attending wine classes and seminars in Northern California and at UCLA.
All of this has not only allowed her to express her love of the wine business to fulfill what has now become her passion, but also has helped her to turn it into a successful career. She currently has been in the wine business professionally for over 11 years. This long and passionate pursuit has helped in creating the developed and sophisticated palate she will utilize in her wine reviews.
LeAnna’s philosophy is that wine enhances not only food, but also the dining and social experience as a whole.She describes herself as a wine lover and enjoys sharing her passion for wine in a laid back, fun and playful manner. Her reviews will enhance our site as a whole and provide insight to our readers about a plethora of wines from around the globe. The evaluations will describe the wines’ nuances, provide an opinion as to its price and value, and will direct readers on the best ways of finding the wines locally. Every new edition of the site will have LeAnna’s most recent reviews. In addition, she will often supplement those reviews with notes from local Las Vegas tastings and other events around California.
