July 13, Wednesday:  The American Wine Society presents a “Wine Judging Class”, featuring an opportunity to evaluate 18-24 from 6:30 until 9:00 pm at the Veil conference room at the Silverton Casino located at 3333 Blue Diamond Road, Las Vegas 89139.  Cost for non-members is $13.00 per person.  Call 702-210-9515 for reservations, which are required.


July 30, Saturday:   Rock’n Roll Wine presents its raging Wine Amplified event at the Moorea Beach Club at the Mandalay Bay, featuring a large selection of wines for tasting and the British Reggae band UB40.  Cost is $50.00 per person.  Call Rock’n Roll Wine directly at 702-240-3066 for more information or pre-sale of tickets.


August 15, Monday:  The Napa Valley Wine Academy presents a Level One wine class at Total Wine located at 730 S. Rampart Blvd, Las Vegas 89145.  Students receive a Level 1 Certification widely recognized in 55 countries.  Class runs from 9:00 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Cost is $356.00.  Call (855)513-9738 for reservations or further information.


August 27, Saturday:  New Vista Community hosts Wine Walk at the Town Square Mall, from 7:00-10:00 p.m.  Event features more than 20 different wines from various tasting stations. September (Check for actual dates), Monday through Friday.  Wine Week at Smith & Wollensky.  Come in for lunch and for another $20.00 taste a selection of five different premium wines.  The event goes on all week and features different wines each day.  Located at 3767 Las Vegas Boulevard, across the Strip from the Monte Carlo Hotel & Casino.  Call ahead for actual dates at (702)862-4100.  Proceeds from the event goes to charity.

Most Tuesdays:  Wine tasting at Sunset & Vines, 40 Costa de Lago, Henderson (Lake Las Vegas), from 6:00-7:30.  No Charge.  Call the restaurant at 702-382-7900 or check their website at www.sunsetvines.com.


Thursdays:  Wine tastings at Khoury’s Fine Wine & Spirits.  Five dollar fee credited towards any wine purchased. Tastings take place from 6:00-8:00 p,m. on Thursdays at the Khoury’s store located at 9915 S. Some Thursdays:  Wine tasting and food sampling at the Les Kincaid radio show from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.  Become part of a live radio show with host Les Kincaid, who teaches cooking and wine appreciation at UNLV.  Each week, Les visits a different upscale restaurant where he offers cooking tips and explains why that venue’s food is paired with the wines offered at the event.  Admission costs $20.00.  For more information, visit his website at www.leskincaid.com .


Most Fridays:  Wine tasting from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Double Helix wine bar located on the second floor of the Palazzo Shops between the Venetian and the Palazzo Hotels & Casinos.  The shop features several different wines each Friday with a tasting fee of only $5.00.


Some Saturdays:  From 11:00 a.m until 1:00 p.m. at Marche’ Bacchus located at 2620 Regatta Drive, Suite 126, Las Vegas.  No charge.  Contact the shop at 702-804-8008 or see their website at www.marchebacchus.com for details.


Saturdays and Sundays:  Total Wine, located at 730 S. Rampart Boulevard in the Boca Park shopping mall, conducts open tastings free of charge from noon until 5:00 p.m.  For more information call the store at (702)933-8740. 


Most Saturdays:  Free wine tasting at Rare Restaurant located at 11261 S. Eastern, Henderson, from 6:00-8:00 p.m.  Call (702)220-7273 for more information.


Wine Education:  Wine classes on different subjects at Valley Cheese & Wine at 1770 W. Horizon Ridge, Henderson.  Evening classes with cost varying from $20-$50 depending on wine offered in particular class.  Call 702-341-8191 for details.
